About Oim
Michaela Schwarzenauer, who goes by the nickname Oim, is a 26-year-old actress based in Berlin. Originally from Austria, her language skills include German as mother tongue, English on a native level, as well as the Tyrolean dialect. Oim has been on stage since the age of seven, later discovering her love for improvisational theatre and film.
Prior to studying at university, Oim had already taken courses in stage and screen acting for six years. After obtaining her BA in English Studies in 2020, she decided to pursue a BA in Acting for Film at Catalyst Berlin, graduating in 2024. Her skills and passions include skiing, yoga, painting, climbing, rock music, going on roadtrips with her van and working on her moderate Italian skills.
Artist Statement
Michaela ‘Oim’ Schwarzenauer is a hard-working, yet playful mountain-girl, who always finds the right balance between getting shit done and finding time to be barefoot and pet dogs. She enjoys writing, characterising things without directly saying them, and building immersive worlds for her stories to live in. Although her boobs have been described as her greatest asset, so perfectly shaped they have made people cry, Oim also brings other things, like precision, commitment and a warm energy to projects. She uses self-irony and humour as tools to critique, allowing her audience to reflect on themselves and the world they live in, without their pain being able to hurt them.
